How Things Work: Quantum radio

By Richard Claridge

Did you know that many of the technologies that we use and rely on every single day, mobile phones, GPS, communications, radio, television, all rely on the same scarce natural resource, the electromagnetic spectrum?

So, for the benefit of our economies, our societies, and our critical national infrastructure, we need to fundamentally rethink the technologies we use to access and control the electromagnetic spectrum.

In this video from PA’s Global Innovation and Technology Centre, home to 300 scientists, designers and engineers, the PA team talk about how we are using quantum technologies to squeeze even more capability out of the available electromagnetic spectrum to alleviate this global challenge.
