PA Consulting wins at Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s Supply Chain Awards for work in AI

PA Consulting, the global innovation and transformation consultancy, is pleased to announce that it has won ‘Best example of applying creative and innovative solutions’ by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group Supply Chain Awards 2024 for harnessing AI to transform ways of working and ensure operational safety.
The NDA recognises that innovation, alongside research and development, is a critical enabler of their strategy. As well as facilitating the current business, innovation can also drive wider business change and help it improve. The awards identify the vital role that supply chain companies play in helping the NDA group deliver its nationally important mission and clean up its 17 nuclear sites across the UK.
PA Consulting worked with Sellafield to develop a solution which removes 90 percent of administrative burden from important engineering tasks and is a strong indicator of AI’s potential. The judges were impressed by the clear and tangible benefits delivered, as well as the effective use of emerging technology to remove mundane tasks and enable our people to focus on more value adding work.”

PA was also nominated for its work developing an end-to-end data platforming capability to support decision making and accelerate nuclear decommissioning at NRS Dounreay.
The NDA Supply Chain Award follows PA’s inclusion in Sellafield’s recent Annual Research and Development Review 2023/24 for its work on AI initiatives to drive operational excellence.
